YHI begins the healing process for children that have been hurt by abuse, neglect or maltreatment.              
                                                      
The safety and well-being of children is our first priority. Sometimes it is necessary to remove children from their homes and place them in a safer environment until family problems can be successfully resolved, and the child can be returned to a healthier and stronger family. When family problems are so severe that a child cannot be successfully reunited, foster families provide care and love until the child can be placed into an adoptive family.
